You don't need to be able to sing every song under the sun... But you need to do what you do WELL. We help you find the prima voce, aka the sweet spot and pick the right songs for your voice to get that WOW effect every time you sing.
Once we know your strengths we dig deep into vocal technique to help you become a more well rounded singer. This is where you will learn all about expanding your range, eliminating any vocal cracks, embellishments, tone, etc.
Now that you have all these options to choose from and you know what your strengths are it's time to define your sound so that you can stand out from everyone else and connect with your audience on a deeper level.
That is a sneaky lie the music industry has been feeding us for decades!
But it can definitely feel like that when you don't follow a training that's right for your specific voice.
You see, even though we are all anatomically the same, we all approach singing differently so we all end up with different strengths and weaknesses.
Following exercises and techniques that are not right for your specific voice are a waste of time and will leave you feeling frustrated and ready to give up.
So if you've been feeling overwhelmed with all the information online, you've been working with a coach but are feeling a little stuck right now, or you're new to vocal training and don't know where to start... I'm so glad you're here!
At VoxTape Studios we give you the full picture of the voice - the technical AND the artistic sides of singing - so that you can not only become a more well rounded singer, but also a more confident performer and artist.
Whether you want to work on:
Making Singing Feel Good - release tension to get your voice unstuck from your throat so that you can expand your range, belt higher, eliminate vocal cracks and sing with more freedom.
Improving Your Vocal Tone - explore different timbres like breathy singing, powerful belting, mixing, twang, etc.
Exploring Different Embellishments - spice up your singing through vibrato, riffs, scoops, flips, distortion and more.
Finding Your Own Sound - stand out from everyone else around you through developing your #radioeffect.
Understanding How Your Instrument Works - look at the anatomy of the voice so that you can better understand how everything in your voice is connected.
Feeling More Confident As A Singer & Performer - explore performance techniques, groove, how to handle a microphone, audition tips, etc.
We've got you covered and can't wait to help you explore your voice's full potential!
So Much Progress In Such Little Time
And it made sense to me because I experienced the same thing first hand! While the decades of voice lessons helped me become a better and stronger singer, they didn't help me see success in the music industry. It was only once I figured out what my strengths were, combined with the skills I built over the years, that I saw success.
That is why at VoxTape Studios we structure our lessons differently so that you don't just become a better singer, but you also fall in love with your own voice and if you choose to pursue a career in the music industry, you'll beset up for success.

VTS student and lead singer Billy from Billy & The Kidz went from barely opening her mouth singing a Bruno Mars song in her first lesson to finding her rock style, forming a band and going on tour. The highlight of their tour was playing the iconic Viper Room in Hollywood where the audience was singing their original songs back at them. The VTS team was pumped to travel across the US to be with Billy as she jumped into the professional music scene together with her band and their awesome original songs.
Izzy started her lessons with us in her senior year of High School and decided to pursue music full time for one year after graduating. After putting her heart, sweat and tears into her music, by the end of that summer she was signed to Rude Records. This milestone allowed her to continue her music career and have the opportunity to get her songs from demo tapes onto major platforms. At only 19 years old she is able to confidently follow her passions as a full time musician.
Reeta was not new to participating in singing competitions and though she placed pretty well throughout, she wanted to get to the top. Her lifestyle as a busy working mom didn't hold her back from putting in the work. With the help of VoxTape Studios her hard work paid off! Now she is consistently placing at the top of the competitions she's participating in and wowing her audience every time. She also joined a band as their lead singer and performs with them regularly.
The trial lesson is 45 minutes or training with an additional 15 minutes set aside at the end to make sure that you don't have any more questions and to talk about what to do next.
We are able to provide free educational content on YouTube, Instagram, and other social media platforms as we are able to share this content with such a wide audience. However, all of our 1:1 coaching are paid lessons to compensate our coaches for the time they are focusing on your voice and your needs alone. This allows us to hire professional coaches to help you reach your vocal and artistic goals!
Yes! Anyone from anywhere can do a trial lesson - as long as you have a good internet connection. When you schedule your lesson you will get a Zoom link sent to your email. All you need to do is click on that link at the time of your lesson and you are all set!
Just a computer and a phone that's it! It's best to have the Zoom app installed on your computer so that we can adjust your audio settings so that we can hear you clearly. The phone you'll need to pull up any karaoke tracks that we might need in your lesson. No external microphones or cameras are necessary!
No, we do not offer any in-person lessons. We have coaches from all over the US so that you can get the best quality education and are not limited to your local resources. All of our lessons are held online over Zoom.
The trial lesson consists of 3 parts. First we will have a little chat about your experience and your goals with singing and music. Then we will work on a song of your choice. I will give you exercises and techniques to try so that I can get to know your voice better and already see improvements in your voice. To wrap up the session I will answer and questions you have and talk about what's next if you're interested in continuing with lessons at VTS.
No, you don't need to have taken any singing lessons or performance experience previously to work with me.
I - Lara - personally do all the trial lessons. It is important to me that I know all the students at VTS and make sure that they are getting exactly what they need. Knowing and understanding your voice will allow me to see who from the VTS is the perfect fit for you moving forward based on your needs and goals as well as our coaches specialties. Often times singers think they know what they need to work on, but they aren't always right. It is my job and my pleasure to make sure you are getting exactly what you need.
If you loved your trial lesson and you'd like to continue taking lessons at VTS we would absolutely love to help you work on your voice, artistry and confidence. We have a couple different options at VTS as far as continuous lessons goes. That's why I always do a trial lesson with new students first to make sure that they can move forward with the best option for their personal needs. We will be able to discuss these options at the end of your trial lesson.
VoxTape Studios is an online studio for singers - helping them start a career in today's music industry. That is why we help our students with singing, songwriting, demo production, artist development, accompaniment on piano and guitar, social media, etc. A pretty voice on its own isn't going to help you become a successful singer. That's why we offer coaching in all these other areas as well.
